Eternal Spring - Our objective
Primary this project aims to set in motion a working process leading to the establishment of a global ethical-ecological society. It emphasises highly the shortcomings in current global development and in human functioning, highlighting:
-
the great incoherence between global agreements and the local reality, and the slow pace, almost inertia, with which restoring activities are being implemented
-
the great social unbalance and instability, and environmental destructive behaviour
-
cultural diversity and sustainable development of a bio-region
-
fair trade systems and the expansion of existing nature reserves and natural areas.
The project offers governments and policy makers a framework for the implementation of a global and local policy that supports the process of the establishment of a global ethical-ecological society. Additionally, it also provides a wider audience with access to new visions, guidelines and possibilities for just and genuine development.
In general the project raises our awareness of the need for an integral approach towards the existing problems on the ecological, economic, social, political and cultural level.
Justification
The global ecological crisis demands an integral approach of our problems. Current approaches display severe shortcomings, amongst which, to name a few are:
-
denial of the current critical situation;
-
ecology is still considered to be a "side-track" of local political agenda;
-
(inter)national and local programs are not coherent;
-
a lack of stringent agreements (on a global level) regarding correction of wrong habits;
-
denial of science and knowledge of other than Western cultures and traditions.
